My Movie Poster

why this movie poster being ones of my favo?

Do you remember the 1991 crime – horror film “Silence of the Lambs” with Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins in the leading roles? 20 years later, this movie still captures our imagination.

The well-known poster with Jodie Foster’s face is showing that her mouth is covered by a moth; but not any kind of moth. The “Death’s-head Hawkmoth” is the one on the posters as well as in the movie, which is known for its vaguely human skull-shaped pattern of markings on the thorax. If you see closely on the moth that’s in front of Foster’s lips you will notice a skull on its back, but what you see is actually 7 naked woman’s bodies that are shaping a human skull together.

This art work is actually done by Salvador Dali. Some say that the 7 women symbolize the victim’s in the movie, which makes sense. The agency behind the movies poster is film ad agency Dazu and they got permission by director Jonathan Demme to use Dali’s “women-bodies” skull” in the movies artwork.

konsep poster yang cerdas, bukan :) Thats why i love it :))
